Thank you to everyone who replied to let me know if and when they'd be interested in having a first SaskRCE Climate Change Working Group meeting.
Based on the responses received, the date of preference for most is:
Tuesday, August 14th from 130pm till 330pm. I'm currently seeking somewhere to meet between Saskatoon and Regina...hopefully Craik.
Please let me know by Friday, August 10th:
a) if you're able to attend
b) and if so, where you are coming from.
2. Review the purpose of the Sask RCE.
3. Start to talk about and begin to compile a list of existing climate change-related ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) initiatives. In other words...what are people already doing that has a focus on "education" and relates to climate change? Recall that (as described on page 6 of the proposal): Education for sustainable development aims at promoting reflection and discernment in our region that helps us identify and! pursue paths to sustainability. Such paths lead to ongoing improvements in quality of life while sustaining healthy ecosystems. They promote active environmental stewardship, social justice, and intergenerational equity.
4. Discuss and begin to identify climate change-related ESD research needs and interests. In other words, what could we learn more about to help us do what we do better?
5. Discuss Next Steps and How to Best Continue to Move Forward
If there are other things that should be added, please let me know.
Also, if you know of others that might be interested in attending who are not currently on this email list, please feel free to forward this on.
Thanks for your assistance...and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Tuesday.
