A record 45 awards presented in 2025

RCE SK once again celebrated a record number of Saskatchewan sustainability initiatives, at its 17th annual recognition event on May 30 at Luther College, University of Regina. See Livestream Video. All 45 projects recognized were focused on educate, encourage and engage others in local action that helps meet the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

RCE Patron, Her Honour the Honourable Bernadette McIntyre presented all the certificates, (See News Release with full recipient list) including several special awards:

Excellence in Education for Sustainable Development in the Community Award

Salthaven West Wildlife Rehabilitation Education Program by the Salthaven West Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre

Lyle Benko Future Generations Award for Outstanding Education for Sustainable Development in Kindergarten to Grade 12 

Empowering Change through Climate Education and Outdoor Play by SaskOutdoors.

Dr. Garth Pickard Award for Post-Secondary Excellence in Education for Sustainable Development

Breastfeeding Advocacy Knowledge Hub, by Dr Shela Hirani, University of Regina 

Community Governance Award for Outstanding Contributions of First Nations Communities & Municipalities
